Authenticator Options

If you would not like to use a cellphone to authenticate, below are other options.

  • Option 1: Use a Free PC / Browser Authenticator (Recommended & Instant)
Instead of a phone, you can install a secure code-generator directly onto your office computers. Because you use a shared account, you can add the exact same setup key to multiple computers so they all generate the identical login codes simultaneously.
    • If you use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge: We recommend the free, open-source Authenticator Extension. Once added, staff simply click the small QR-code icon next to the browser's address bar to instantly view the current 6-digit login code.
    • If you prefer a Windows Desktop Application: We recommend Ente Auth for Desktop (also available directly via the Microsoft Store). It runs as a lightweight app right on your Windows desktop.
  • Option 2: Use a Physical Hardware Key Fob (Great for shared desks)
If you prefer not to install browser extensions, or if your staff frequently log in and out of different Windows user profiles, a physical plastic key fob that sits on the desk next to the computer is the cleanest solution.
You must purchase a programmable token so it can be synced to your specific CLX account. We officially recommend hardware tokens from Token2, a trusted global provider:
    • Standard Key Fob: Token2 C202 Programmable Token (Approx. $15–$20). A rugged keychain fob with an LCD screen. Press the button, read the code, and type it into CLX.
    • Multi-Account Fob: Token2 Molto-2-v2 Multi-Profile Token (Approx. $35). If your desk needs to log into multiple different shared accounts, this fob features a small screen that can store up to 100 different login profiles.
